Prorated standings for the season

Through games of October 28th, 2014

Nashville became the final team to lose a game in regulation, while Carolina still doesn't have a win in regulation. Actually, Carolina still doesn't have a win, period, as the only team in the NHL. Home teams are finally getting the best of their visitors on a more regular basis (points percentages of .589 and .541), and the Western Conference (.594 vs. .539) has once again established itself as the stronger of the two. In fact, the difference between West and East is bigger than the difference between home and away at the moment. The prorated best non-qualifier in the West, St. Louis, is on pace for 92 points, one more point than the logjam that makes up the three-way-tie-for-the-last-playoff-spot in the East.

This means that the Eastern Conference makes up nine of the 14 worst teams in the League right now. Thank God for the re-alignment! With the NHLs first proposal to the NHLPA, Detroit would be another team fighting for a spot among the top eight in the West, making the difference even bigger between the conferences (Columbus are currently on the outside looking in; so are Winnipeg, if you want to look back at the conferences before the latest stoppage, so neither of these teams influence the qualifiers currently; actually they have identical records so far: 4-5-0 with four ROWs each). If so, even San Jose, on pace for 97 points, wouldn't qualify in the West, while two of the three previously mentioned tied teams would qualify with 91 points each.

I'm doing a couple of concerts next weekend, so I'm not sure if I manage to get anything done this week, either, but I'll give it a shot...

It doesn't mean that I'm giving up, but I'd be surprised if I managed to catch up ahead of the playoffs. No comment from people has made me neglect it further.

Thanks, pal. I'm doing fine, but my schedule is terrible. Well, sort of... I'm extremely busy, and I just haven't had the time to keep up with this.

Unfortunatly, there are no more updates. I hope you are doing fine. I miss your power ranking :)
